Dwane Seidel Obituary

Seidel, Dwane W.

Dwane W. Seidel, age 82 of Appleton, passed away at home on Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born on February 22, 1932 to the late Walter and Alice (Rybold) Seidel in LaCrosse. Dwane attended college for one year in California then returned to LaCrosse and received his degree in accounting. With his parents, he owned and operated Seidels Sinclair gas station and 10 Miles House Restaurant in LaCrosse. In 1950, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for two years. On July 7, 1956 he married Marlene Wallin. They moved to Appleton in 1960 where they owned and operated Seidel Trucking. He then worked for 14 years at Zwickers Knitting Mill as a Distribution Manager, then owned and operated D&M Delivery with his wife Marlene, and worked with his family for Pinkerton Security as a Regional Manager. After retirement he worked at Electronic Filing Center for his son, preparing tax returns as "The Senior Tax Preparer".

He is survived by his wife, Marlene, his sons; John Seidel and James (Debbie) Seidel, and his daughter Mary (Mark Shest) Seidel, grandchildren; Brian, Heather (Mariano), Tara (Tyler), Mitchel (Heather), Taydom and Jared, and two great grandchildren; Selena and Landon. Dwane is further survived by his step brother Richard (Charlene) Larson, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, and step father, Clarence Larson.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

A celebration of Dwane's life will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond St, Appleton. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM, and again Friday, March 14, 2014 from 11:00AM until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park.

I met Dwane in May of 2000, when I started working with him at Pinkerton, he trained me at a site when he was a flex officer. He was a terrific person and co-worker. Not too long ago I was thinking about him, wondering how he was doing. I am very sorry for your loss.

Dewane has done our taxes for over 15 years even after moving to Tennessee five years ago we always came back to visit and have him do our taxes. We will deeply miss him and his jokes... Prayers go out to the family

Marlene,John,Jim,Mary, & the Seidel families... It is a great loss to hear of Dwanes' passing!!! Dwane & Marlene you were not only great neighbors,you were also a terrific "boss" when I had worked for you with the delivery service ,& Marlene you as well with watching our son Jim while I was with Dwane. He always bought breakfast,then I would buy the coffee each afternoon! Dwane was also a "EXTREMELY" great inspiration to me personally!!!! I shall never forget him either!!! God Bless All of You.

DWANE did my taxes for many years. We actually shared the same FEBRUARY 22 birthday. I have so much respect and appreciation for his kindness and knowledge. I truly enjoyed getting to know him and his funny stories .DWANE went out of his way to help me concerning my taxes and it saddens my heart to hear about his passing.PRAYERS & HUGS sent out to his wife and son JOHN and rest of the family .
