Sternhagen, Lloyd F.
Lloyd F. Sternhagen, of Neenah, age 87, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Catherine's Medical Center in Kenosha. He was born July 11, 1925 in Florence, WI, son of the late Fredrick and Rita (Taff) Sternhagen.
Lloyd graduated from Florence High School and then joined the US Navy. He then transferred to the US Marines as a Medic, landing in Normandy the day after D Day.
Lloyd returned home and married Arlene Wilhelmi on August 11, 1951 in Florence. He retired from American Can in Neenah in 1987. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and watching the Brewers and Packers. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah and currently a member at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene, Kenosha; a daughter, Beth Sternhagen, Kenosha; three sisters: Winifred Mindel, Neenah, Joyce (Walter) Wilhelmi, Florence, Nita (Louis) Derocher, Menominee, MI; three brothers-in-law: Neil Bailey, Seattle, Earl (Carol) Wilhelmi, Colby, WI, Kenneth Wilhelmi, Abbotsford, WI; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Wayne) Luehris, Plover, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by two sisters: Marian (Clayton) Hughes, Audrey Bailey; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wilhelmi.
There will be a memorial service held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Somers, WI; and then a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak St., Neenah, with The Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. The visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Christian Education at Trinity Lutheran School in Neenah and Bethany Lutheran School in Kenosha.

Arlene And Beth, Our prayer are with you,
So sorry for your lost, When your parents move away from their house in Neenah we missed them Very much, We still miss them, we were so used to see them sitting in their chairs outside, every time I pull in the drive way my first words were "hi!!" and they both always very happy will say hi to me and my boys, I will miss him very much my boys called him grandpa and some times they help him water the plants or shovel the snow, sorry for this dairy like coment but I was very surprise to see Lloyd's name in this list. please give a big hug to your mom.
