Werner, Kenneth A.
JANESVILLE--- Kenneth A. Werner, age 90, of Janesville, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg.
He was born on July 28, 1922, in Mackville, WI, to Anton and Mary (Mueller) Werner. He married Mae Huettl on May 13, 1944. She preceded him in death on April 18, 1999. Ken served in Europe during WWII as a Sergeant in the US Army.
He lived and worked in Hortonville until 1955 when he moved his family to Janesville and worked for WR Arthur/JATCO Transportation until retiring in 1988. Ken was a member of the VFW Post 1621, and the Loyal Order of Moose #197. He enjoyed his cabin in Rhinelander, camping, hunting, playing cards and following the Chicago Cubs.
Ken is survived by his 8 children: Shirley (George) Uschan of Hayward, Sharon (Terry) Hoffland, Diane (Ron) Radmer both of Janesville, Stanley (Sue) Werner of Grand Junction, CO, Terry (fiancée Charmaine) Werner of Milwaukee, Sheila (Benjamin) Graf, Jerry (Becky) Werner and Tony Werner all of Janesville; daughter-in-law, Ann Werner of Appleton; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Werner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mae; son, Vern; daughter, Linda; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at St. William Catholic Church, Janesville, with Fr. John Auby officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. William Catholic Church.
