Raatz, Roderick "Rick"  
Raatz, Roderick "Rick" Roderick "Rick" Raatz, 72, of Appleton, died Friday June 26, 2015. He was born in Fremont WI; January 30, 1943, son of Eric and Irma (nee' Schmidt) Raatz. Rick served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked most of his life as a carpenter, which was not only his job, it was also his passion. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton. Rick's faith was an important part of his life as he was a very devoted Christian. He loved learning new things, and having rummage sales. But his greatest enjoyment came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rick is survived by his partner of 20 years, Kathy Roocks, Appleton; his two children, son, Andrew (Rebecca) Raatz, Manitowoc, and daughter Stephanie (Jason) Gagnon, Appleton; his four grandchildren, Dakota, Kelly, Jonah, and Hannah; three sisters, Delores Meyer, Fremont, Yvonne(Leonard) Olsen, Manawa, and Gorgene Niemuth, Oshkosh. He is further survived by Kathy's two sons, Dale (Tina) Greenhaw, Summit Lake, WI; and Patrick Whitaker, Appleton; and her three grandchildren, Colton, Austin, and Aysia; his former wife and mother of his children, Cynthia Raatz, Appleton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gwendolyn Ory; brother Orlando Raatz; and three grandchildren, Jamie, Casey, and Marshall. Funeral service for Rick will be 11:00 AM on Thursday July 2, 2015 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E Glendale Ave, Appleton with Rev. Aaron Rosenau officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday beginning at 9:00 AM until the hour of service.

Radtke, Marjorie B.  
Radtke, Marjorie, B. Marjorie B. Radtke, age 90, of Appleton, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Rennes Health Care Center in Appleton. She was born October 28, 1924, at the home of her parents, Harry and Alice (Birkholz) Schwoch, in the Town of Oak Grove, Dodge County, Wisconsin. Rev. E.C. Reim baptized her on November 30, 1924, and confirmed her on April 10, 1938. Her memory verse was "You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand". Marjorie attended all of grade school at St. Stephen's Lutheran School in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In 1942, she graduated from Beaver Dam High School. That same year she was named the Dodge County Dairy Queen and began as a bookkeeper at the Gardner Baking Company's branch office in Beaver Dam. In 1945, Marjorie married Howard Radtke. In 1949, they moved to Appleton and in 1950, became a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Marjorie became a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid group in 1959, and later served as secretary and treasurer. She was also a member of the Past Officers' Club. Marjorie was also very interested in sewing and craft projects. She took classes for tailoring, creative cake decorating, hat making, knitting, crocheting, calligraphy and accounting. For 23 years, she was Secretary/Administrative Assistant at the Appleton United Way office as well as secretary/bookkeeper for the Radtke Plumbing Company. After retirement, she enjoyed taking senior computer classes at Fox Valley Technical College and then began a genealogy research of Schwoch and Radtke family history. Marjorie is survived by her son Gerald and daughter Carol. She is further survived by her sister, Fern Kern of Fox Lake; brother, Donald H. Schwoch of King; sister-in-law, Beatrice Zabel of Thiensville; and brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Edward and Elaine Radtke; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her husband, Howard L. Radtke preceded her in death on February 8, 2011. Also preceding Marjorie were her parents in 1979; her brother Duane in 1977; 3 brother-in-laws; 1 sister-in-law; 1 niece and 1 nephew. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m., at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison Street, Appleton. Funeral Services for Marjorie will follow at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Peter Walther officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the compassionate care that was given to Marjorie during her stay at Rennes Health Center in Appleton. Also, special thanks to Chris and Julie; and to Activities Staff members Claire and Belinda for their endless supply of M&M's; and also the Nurses, CNA's and Aides - Irene, Esther, Kendra, Ashley, Debbie, Linda, Cindy and Jean, among many others at Rennes who provided wonderful care. A memorial fund will be established for St. Paul Child Care Center.
