Matthews, Rev. Larry W. The Rev. Larry W. Matthews, 71, Rockford, IL Larry Wilson Matthews, 71, of Rockford, died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, in OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Born January 4, 1944, on a Naval Base in Farragut, ID to Wilson and Pauline (Click) Matthews. Larry grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from JEB Stuart High School, Falls Church, VA in 1961. He graduated from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH in 1965, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1969, and was ordained a pastor of the Lutheran Church in America, June 1969. Larry married Nancy Ann Hall on May 27, 1967. He was a member of Alpine Lutheran Church where he served on Church Council and was a lay assistant and a member of the Endowment Committee. He was Past President of Kiwanis Club of Rockford (Downtown) in 2014 and served on various committees. He was Vice President of the Springbrook Homeowners Association, Rockford, IL; former board member of Cornerstone Foundation, LSSI from 2011 to 2014. Larry was an avid golfer, Washington Redskins and Nationals fan and loved to travel. Churches served by Larry include Stephens City Lutheran Parish (Trinity Lutheran Church, Stephens City, VA and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Winchester, VA), 1969-1973; Messiah Lutheran Church, Mechanicsville, VA, 1973-1979; Bethlehem Lutheran Church; Lynchburg, VA, 1979-1985; St. Mark Lutheran Church, Rockford, IL, 1985-1998; and Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton, WI, 1998-2008. He retired from The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2008. He served as Interim Pastor at Alpine Lutheran Church, Rockford, IL Feb. 1 to April 30, 2014. Survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Sheryl (David) Crowell of Rockford; grandsons, Jacob and Alex Crowell; "adopted daughter", Cindy (Mark) Szadokierski; cousins, Jim (Marsha) Matthews, Dean (Susan) Click, and Barry (Bonnie) Click; nieces, Elizabeth (Robert) Brannon and Amy Hall; and sister-in-law, Ingrid Hall. Special thank you to all the nurses and CNAs at OSF 4W, Drs. Shaukat and Schoenwald, and all other medical professionals who provided care for Larry, as well as the Therapy Dog Program and Valet Service at OSF. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave. Rockford, with Rev. Daniel Wynard officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Olson Funeral Home, Fred C. Olson Chapel, Ltd. 1001 Second Ave. Rockford and on Wednesday April 1, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the church. Milheiser, Dorothy  
Milheiser, Dorothy A. Dorothy A. Milheiser, 88, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Living Tree Estates in Greenville. She was born on August 17, 1926 in Neenah; daughter of the late Albert and Amy (Williams) Leverance. On July 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to James H. "Jim" Milheiser, Jr. Jim preceded her in death on January 13, 2012. Dorothy cherished vacationing with her family at Lake Noquebay near Crivitz. She enjoyed working on crafts, crocheting, sewing and using her skills to create and repair clothing for family and friends. She was also very proud of her doll collection. Survivors include three sons: Richard (Jane) Milheiser, Altoona, Dan (Liz) Milheiser, Neenah and Scott Milheiser, Las Vegas, NV; two daughters: Diane (Dave) Becker, Necedah and Elizabeth Milheiser, Weyauwega. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Laverne and a brother, Leonard. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Milheiser; brother, Albert, Jr. and a sister, Amy A private family memorial service for Dorothy will be held at a later date. Murphy, Bea  
Beatrice M. "Bea" Murphy Beatrice M. "Bea" Murphy, 101, Appleton, passed away on March 27, 2015. Bea was born on October 23, 1913 to Gerhard "Gerry" and Annie (Pautz) Schaumburg in Osborn (Seymour) Wisconsin. On October 28, 1934 she married Francis "Frank" H. Murphy in Isaar Wisconsin and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1995. Bea was a hard working homemaker, mother and dairy farmer. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton since 1948. She was a proud member of the Willow Hill Homemakers and a Grand Chute area sewing club. She loved playing cards, especially Sheephead, baking and discussing and following politics. Bea was a very kind-hearted woman. She made friends easily, always found the best in others, focused on that and tried to bring out the best in herself and others. Bea will be sadly missed by her children: Marvin and Ruth Ann Murphy of Fremont; Jerome and Jan Murphy of Grand Chute; David and Lynn Murphy, of Greenville; daughter-in-law Judy Murphy; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother Gerald (Gladys) Schaumburg; sister-in-law Elaine (Mrs. Maynard) Schaumburg as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, one son Franklin, one daughter-in-law Marilyn Murphy, siblings: Marie (Gordon) Bunkleman; Margaret (Maurice) Barclay; Florence (Herbert) Rusch; Vivian (Marvin) Druckrey; Dorothy (Carlton) Stellmacher; infant Eunice Schaumburg; Bernice (Jim) Riehl; Maynard Schaumburg; brother-in-law Francis Biel. Friends may call on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street in Appleton.
