Geen, Albert

Albert L. Geen, age 83, died peacefully Friday evening, November 1, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center. Al was born April 25, 1930, in Ironwood, MI, the son of John "Jack" and Ruth Geen. He grew up in Ironwood and later joined the Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Al married Marilyn Griedl and she preceded him in death. He later married Laverne Kuehnl and she preceded him in death. He had worked in the packaging department for Whiting Paper Co.

Al is loved and will be missed by his significant other, Millie Hafeman; Laverne's children; Millie's children; all the grandchildren; great grandchildren; great- great grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Virginia), Reggie (Linda); the Geen in-laws, the Greidl in-laws, the Paulus in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Marilyn and Laverne; brothers, Jack and Jim; sister, Ruth Jelliffe, and several in-laws.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St. Vincent Site) 1225 Oregon St., Oshkosh, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial being offered at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Mathew Simonar officiating. Al will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the 8th floor staff at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Care at Home Hospice for the care and concern shown to Al and the family.
