Bernice G. Plesser, age 87 years, of Clintonville passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her daughter's home in Appleton.

The former Bernice Genevieve Woyak was born May 21, 1925 in Galloway, Marathon County, Wisconsin, to Matthew and Elizabeth (Rozumialski) Woyak. She was united in marriage on September 3, 1949 to Raymond J. Plesser at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway. Over the years, the couple lived in Milwaukee, Galloway, Rockford, IL, Marion, Bear Creek, and settled in Clintonville in the early 1960's. Bernice was employed for some time at the local canning factory, the shoe factory, and she also cleaned homes and businesses. She was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, where she volunteered with the PCCW. Bernice led by example and always put others first. She had a strong faith and inner strength. Her interests included gardening, canning, growing daisies and sunflowers. She enjoyed baking bread, cookies, brownies, and her cinnamon rolls were legendary.

Survivors include six children: Suzanne Rew of Clintonville, James Plesser of Clintonville, Joanne (Chuck) Hoffmann of Appleton, Mary Kay (Dale Damm) Plesser of Cedarburg, Terri (Mark) Suski of Hainseville, IL, and Chris (Paul) Nelson of Appleton. There are eleven grandchildren: Philip (Sara Netzel) Rew, Brian Rew, Aaron (Krista) Rew, Carla Rew, Laurie Rew, Erica Plesser, Kristin (Tom) Lanari, Lauren Hoffmann, Greg Hoffmann, Danielle (friend Brian Ahlstrand) Quinette, and Jenny Nelson. There are three great grandchildren: Rebecca Rew, Michael Rew, and Claire Lanari. She is further survived by a sister, Sophie Erickson of Oak Creek, WI, a sister-in-law, Peggy (John) Breske of Elderon, a brother-in-law, Harry Zoromski of Wittenberg, a sister-in-law, Shirley Woyak of Stevens Point, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Greensboro, NC, and many other relatives and friends.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond in 1976, seven sisters, and five brothers.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Kevin Mortara, Dr. John Swanson, and the nurses with ThedaCare Hospice, especially Mary, for the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Bernice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 30th at 10:30 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. John "Jack" Mullarkey will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
