Seager, Donald R.
Donald R. "Oscar" Seager, of Winchester, age 93, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Alten Haus in Neenah. He was born, one of 13 children, on December 19, 1920 in Neenah, son of the late Alfred and Ida (Anderson) Seager.
Donald married Dorla Hunsicker on November 30, 1957, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. He served in the US Army during WWII
air offensive in Tunisia, England, Rome and North Africa from Jan. of 1942 - Sept. of 1945.
Donald worked as an auto body man and then as a custodian with the Neenah School District at Washington School and Spring Road School for several years. After his retirement from the School District he worked at Ridgeway Country Club and Winnegamie Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife, Dorla; two children: Tim Seager, Winchester, Mary (Harold) Hoernke, Neenah; a brother, Rodney Seager, Menasha; two sister: Lorraine Handschke, New London, Lois Kemp, West Bend; a brother-in-law, Ron (Shirley) Hunsicker, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers: Melvin, Gordon, Roland, Delbert, Gerald and Howard; and three sisters: Deloris, Ethel and Janet.
A memorial service will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2014, with Rev. Clarence Harms officiating. The visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
