Kiesow, Germaine Florence
Germaine F. Kiesow, age 83, courageously passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Appleton Health Care Center, surrounded by her family, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 27, 1930 to Roy and Alvina (Pansy) Meltz. Germaine grew up in the Township of Vinland, helping both on her parents' and her uncle's farm. Germaine married Gerald Kiesow on September 18, 1949 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. She was a life-long member of Martin Luther Church in Neenah. Germaine took great pride in being a wife and mother, providing a spotless home with delicious home-cooked meals. Her yard and flower beds were the envy of the neighborhood. Germaine was also very giving of her time to help relatives and friends. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Upon her diagnosis, Germaine never shed a tear. So strong was her faith in God, she actually nurtured her family through her final journey in life.
Germaine is survived by her husband, Gerald; her children: Juliann Plutz, Sun Prairie and Sharon (Michael) Losselyong, Appleton; her grandchildren: Tara (Eric) Pray, Sun Prairie, Sun Prairie, and Amy Losselyong (Sp. Friend Kevin Pfeifer), Fond du Lac; her great grandchildren: Elliot and Hadley Pray; her sister, Janet Reinhardt, Shawano; her sister-in-law: Lorraine Tatro, Neenah; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Violet and Darlene, son-in-law John Plutz; and brothers-in-law, Roy Reinhardt and Dan Tatro.
The Christian Funeral for Germaine will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Jason Oakland officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Neenah's Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
Germaine's family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially her nurse, Mary; Appleton Health Care Center; and the staff and residents at Matthews Senior Living. Thank you for all of your care, prayers, and kindness to Germaine during her illness.
