James E Klahn, (Jim) passed away after a courageous battle with COPD in El Paso, TX on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the age of 75.

Jim is preceded in death by both of his parents, Edwin Klahn and Edith (Herwig) Klahn.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Amy (Donald) Knapp, Lori (Jeffrey) Gustafson, Lisa Klahn (Borislav Madjun), Kathy (James) Dean, Krystie Klahn, Krystal Klahn and Kimberly Klahn (Oscar Pasqual). Jim also had 9 grandchildren whom he loved, Andrew and Nicholas Knapp, Jordan Gustafson, Ella and Elijah Dean, Matthew Gonzales, Haylee and Thomas Duran, and Damian Ibarra. He is also survived by his two brothers, Gerald (Nancy) Klahn and Larry (Mickie) Klahn as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was born in Madison, WI, on February 3, 1939. He graduated from DeForest High School in 1957. Jim was a mortgage banker for 45 years.

Jim was an honored father and beloved grandfather. The grandchildren will miss taking walks, going out for ice cream and watching ball games with him. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed weekends at the Lake Sherwood cottage. Jim was also a proud veteran in the Korean War.

The Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at the Arlington United Methodist Church, Arlington, WI, on Saturday May 17, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10 am until noon with the service and reception to follow.
