Ament, Jerome Q.
Jerome Q. Ament, "Jim", of Menasha, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, November 26, 2012. He was born April 5, 1933, in Merrill, WI, son of the late David and Adeline (Luedke) Ament.
Jim married Esther Sczygelski on June 9, 1951, in Merrill. He retired from American Can Company in 1994 after 38 years of employment. Jim started each day with a few games of solitaire and ended each day reflecting on what he had accomplished that day and what he'll do tomorrow. Jim loved to keep his home and lawn in tip-top shape. He was a carpenter, making everything from toys to cabinets, to building his own home in the Town of Menasha and he also built the family cottage in Lake Tomahawk in 1973.
Jim was always on the go. When he did relax, he enjoyed watching TV, especially "Little House on the Prairie." He enjoyed fishing and also deer hunting up north with the boys. Jim loved his family and all their kids and great grandkids. A God loving family man, Sunday's were for Church and family. From picnic's, visiting relatives, to going to A&W and Dog 'n Suds on the way home from Lake Tomahawk, to bringing home popsicles after work on a hot day. Memories we will always cherish.
Jim was a charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Neenah.
