Joanne M. De Groot, Kaukauna, age 86 passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at St. Paul Elder Services. She was born December 12, 1927, daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Dorn) Lueck. On June 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence De Groot at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Joanne was a homemaker and loving mother of 5 children. She was remembered by many as the lunch and playground supervisor at Kimberly Elementary School for many years before moving on to Warehouse Specialists Christmas line and then hired full time for Bemis Jason in 1980 until her retirement. She enjoyed working because she loved being with people. She had many good friends who enjoyed card club with her. Joanne also spent enjoyable times with many friends at Jerry Kamps courts in Combined Locks pitching horseshoes and helping organize the tournaments. She brought a joyful presence where ever she went. She was very close to her family and cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her 5 children: Mike De Groot, Mark De Groot, Jon De Groot, Larry (Teresa) De Groot, Kris (Don) Van Roy; 14 grandchildren: Lisa (Bruce) Keeth, Scott (Lisa) De Groot, Jill (Scott) Thayer, Tara (Jim) Burkhart, Rachel (David) Osterling, Carrie De Groot, Misty De Groot, Matt (Amber) De Groot, Lindsay (AJ) Teunissen, Emily De Groot, Jacob De Groot, Kayln (Tommy) Nelson, Cody Van Roy, and Sam Van Roy; 13 great grandchildren: 2 sisters: Tess (Murray) Weiss and Mary Lueck; and a brother, Chuck Lueck; 4 sisters in law: Pat De Groot, Ann De Groot, and Dianne De Groot, Theresa Sanders; and one brother in law, Carl Schnese. Joanne is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Jim Lueck, and Bob (Kathy) Lueck; and many brothers and sisters in law.

A Memorial Mass for Joanne will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 26, 2014 at Holy Spirit Parish at Holy Angels Church, Darboy.
