Henk, Lois G.

Lois G. Henk, age 95 years, of Clintonville (formerly of Menasha) passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2014.

The former Lois Grace Block was born on July 5, 1918 in Tomahawk, WI, to Louis and Daisy (Landry) Block. She graduated from Neenah High School in 1936 and lived in the Neenah-Menasha area most of her life. Lois was united in marriage on September 25, 1948 to Ray M. Henk, Jr., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Menasha. She worked for some time in the office at Marathon Corporation, Menasha, until the birth of her children. Lois was very active with their schooling at St. Mary's Catholic in Menasha, was a member of the Band Mothers, and the Booster Club. She also volunteered for some years at school in the library and the cafeteria. Lois was a longtime, faithful, and active member of St. Mary's in Menasha.

Her husband preceded her in death on December 25, 1998. Lois moved to Clintonville in 2000 and had lived with her daughter ever since. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and baking. Lois shared her love of music and sports with her children and will be remembered most as a devoted wife and a loving mother.

Survivors include three children; Leah Vander Hyden of Illinois, Michael (Barbara) Henk of Oshkosh, and Luanne Henk of Clintonville. She is further survived by one granddaughter, Laurie (husband Jon), five great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, a grandson, Kevin, two brothers, Rev. Msgr. Leo Block and Frederick (Lois) Block, and four sisters, Marie (Herbert) Stinski, Margaret (Clayton) Heiss, Helen (David) Lenz, and Elizabeth (Ford) Campbell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha. Fr. Paul Paider will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
