Quintana-Mendoza, Reyna L.
Reyna Leticia Quintana-Mendoza, age 14, passed away at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin on Sunday, April 6, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief, but courageous battle with illness. She was born on May 22, 1999 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Leticia (Trejo) and Everardo Mendoza. Reyna was currently a Freshman at Neenah High School. She was a bright, beautiful young woman, who loved her family and constantly prayed for and strived for peace. Reyna enjoyed poetry, singing, going to the park, babysitting, talking, texting, and Skypeing with friends; and above all, time spent with her family. She also loved cooking, watching the Food Network, and was looking forward to learning how to drive like her Daddy.
She will be sadly missed by her parents: Leticia and Everardo Mendoza; her sisters: Claudia (Derek) Endter, Austin, TX, Irayma Quintana, Neenah; brothers: Luciano (Sp. Friend Amanda) Martinez, Neenah, Everardo M. Mendoza Jr., Neenah, Jonathan J. Mendoza, Neenah; A.J. Quintana, Neenah; grandmothers: Maria Luisa Quinones, New London, Maria De Los Angeles Galves, Mexico; aunts: Mel (Seth) Trejo-Smith, Arizona, Carmen Flores, Menasha, Elena (Israel) Medina, Menasha, Melissa DeSantos, Neenah; uncles: Florentino Quinonez Jr., Appleton, Jesus Quinones, Menasha, Carlos (Sp. Friend Bri) Quinonez, Appleton, Jesus Mendoza, Appleton; nephew, Marco Martinez; cousins: Selena, Santana, Natalia, Isaac, Isaiah, Florentino III, Esperanza, Marcelino, Malia, Abigail, Ivan, Jesusito, Bianca, Joaquin, Jayden, Dakota, Dante, Isaiah, Mia, Luis. She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Francisca Mares-Ruiz, grandfather, Jose Mendoza, great uncle Leonel Gallegos, and nephew, Dominick Endter.
Funeral Mass for Reyna will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (320 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha). Friends will be received on Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass directly at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Reyna's name.
