Rose M. Hansen, age 88, of Waupaca, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Bethany Home. Rose was born in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin on June 18, 1925, daughter of the late Nells Peter and Olga (Christensen) Johnson.
Rose married Gordon L. Hansen on November 13, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2006.
She had worked at the lunch counter at Stratton's and as a waitress at the Waupaca Cafe. Rose worked for many years as a custodian at the old Waupaca County Courthouse and then in the mailroom in the present Waupaca County Courthouse. Rose had belonged to the Elderon VFW
Women's Auxillary and the women's circle at Northland Lutheran Church.
She is survived by: daughters, Gloria (Chris) Mihna and Ginger (Rex) Radley, and a son: Gary Hansen. One sister: Lillian Ziebell. Rose is further survived by seven grandchildren, Matt, Amber, and Ashley Mihna, of Wisconsin, Chris, Suzanne and Gary Hansen, of California, and Wesley Hough of Wisconsin, and a great grandson, Jack Mihna, of Wisconsin. She also is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by brothers, Ted Christensen and Harry C. Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 @ 5:30 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola, Wisconsin with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be on Friday 3:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Northland Lutheran Cemetery Town of Harrison, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff at St. Joseph's Residence in New London and Bethany Home in Waupaca for all of their loving care for Rose.
