Ruth A. Reese
Age 85 of New London, died Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, after a brief stay at St. Joseph Residence. She fought a courageous and valiant battle with chronic leukemia.
Ruth was born July 2, 1928, in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, daughter of Edwin and Irene (LeBeau) Laughlin. On June 5, 1948, she married Dale Reese at the First Congregation United Church of Christ in New London.
Ruth enjoyed Tuesday breakfast with the ladies, was a loving Mother to her shopping and pedicure buddy/daughter, Tracie, and played in numerous Bridge Clubs. She was an avid reader, gifted at counted-cross stitch, and was a talented seamstress.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Alan (Cam) Reese and Tracie (Brian) Kramer; grandchildren, Matthew (Sara) Reese, Molly (Kate) Reese-Lerner, Michael Reese and Jason Reese. She is further survived by her siblings, Alice Roehl and Eugene (Phyllis) Laughlin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Laughlin
A funeral service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Emanuel Lutheran Church (200 E. Quincy St.) New London, with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Family and friends may call directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
