Hanson, Shirley A.

Shirley Ann Hanson (nee Hartfiel), Age 74, of Menasha, Wisconsin, entered into the house of the Lord July 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15th, 1939 in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, to William and Anna Hartfiel.

Shirley married the love of her life, Robert Hanson, September 21, 1965. Shirley was a child of Christ. She followed the lord all the days of her life, and lived each day by His word. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, tending to her flower gardens, creating art, bowling, playing Yahtzee, travelling, and singing with her birds.

Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Robert Hanson; children: son John (Sally) Hartfiel, their children Robert and Natalie; daughter Kelly (Harley) Simon, their children Joshua and Kristin; daughter Tammy (Todd) Hanson, their daughter Stephanie; son Jeffrey Hanson; sisters Darlene Ernst, Donnajean (Samuel) Clark, Marjorie Knudsen, Sharon (Ronnie) Nollenberg and brothers Roger Hartfiel and Stanley Hartfiel; sister in law Betty Sadowski. She is further survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Anna Hartfiel; sisters (infant) Cynthia Hartfiel, Mary Kruse, Patty Christiansen and brother Donald Hartfiel; infant grandson Samuel Hartfiel; nephew Chad Ernst; father and mother in law Robert and Angeline Hanson; sister in law Margaret Birling.

As Shirley made the Earth beautiful, she will care for the eternal gardens of heaven and the light of her compassion and all encompassing love will shine upon us all forever.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Rd., Menasha, with The Rev. Samuel Degner officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 AM until the hour of service.
