Susan Ann (nee Maluta, Blank) Laabs, Little Chute, age 84, passed away on Thursday September 5, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after numerous bouts with cancer beginning in 1998. She was born Assunta (Susan) Ann on December 19, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Rudolph and Catherine (Ioffredo) Maluta. Susan married Robert Blank and moved to Wisconsin in 1947. Together, they had two children.

She married Frederick Laabs on September 11, 1954. They also had two children.

Susan attended IBA City College where her dreams to become a hairdresser became reality in 1964. She owned the Fountain of Youth Beauty Salon in Appleton.

She was a faithful follower of The Young and the Restless and wouldn't answer the phone or the door for the hour it aired. Susan was a beautiful lady that took great pride in her appearance - every outfit was perfectly coordinated and accessorized. She joked that she wouldn't even answer the phone if she wasn't wearing lipstick.

Susan was a 60 year member of Sacred Heart Parish in Appleton. She collected angels, saying they kept heaven close to her here on earth. Susan also enjoyed reading and drinking tea. She had many friends that didn't drive, so Susan often visited and took them for bingo and groceries. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
