Alvina F. Brinkman, 89, Neenah, was called home by her Savior on Friday, June 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 20, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Mayefski) Scovronske. Alvina graduated from St. Mary High School, Menasha, class of 1941. She married her sweetheart, Clifford Brinkman, on March 2, 1946. Together they enjoyed many years at the cottage on Pelican Lake, making many memories with family and friends. Alvina was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah.
Alvina is survived by her two children: Carol (Amos) Ihde and Paul (Mary) Brinkman; 7 grandchildren: Jodi (Susan Gifford) Ihde, Amy Ihde, Becky (Brian) Allen, Eric (Kathy) Ihde, Joseph (fiancé Lacey Gregg) Ihde, Scott (Kelly) Brinkman and Beth Brinkman; great grandchildren: Brittney, Benton, Hanna and Micah; a sister, Erna Rasmussen; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; a brother, Donald Scovronske; a brother-in-law, Norman Rasmussen; a niece, Sandra Baumann.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Menasha. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial has been established in Alvina's name.
The Brinkman family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Theda Care at Home Hospice staff, especially Noonie and Claudia, for your wonderful care and compassion. Also to Pat Laux for her many Bible reading visits.
