Oberstadt, Della Ida (Pagel)
Della Ida (Pagel) Oberstadt, 100, Shiocton, passed away peacefully at Rennes Health Care Center, Appleton, on January 24, 2013. She was born on April 10, 1912, to John and Ida (Koepke) Pagel. Della lived her entire life in the house she was born in. She loved farming and spending time in the cabbage field and pickle patch. She belonged to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
Della will be remembered by her family as a hard working, strong person. May she finally rest in peace.
She is survived by her two sons, John (Dolores) Oberstadt and Allen (Marilyn) Oberstadt. Grandchildren: Vicki Oberstadt, Wendy Oberstadt (Patrick Deprey), Dan (Lori) Oberstadt, Amy Oberstadt (Dave Lewis), Jim (Janine) Oberstadt. Great grandchildren: Shelly Puffe (fiancé, Corey Brasch) and Christopher Puffe, Tammy (Tim) Thyssen, Eric Drath (Jessica), Brad and Brittany Oberstadt and Andrew Oberstadt. Great-great grandchildren: Tanner and Kiersten Drath and Taylor, Taven, and Troy Thyssen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sisters, Amanda Pyott and Ruth Bonnin and an infant sister, Caroline, her brothers, Louis and Herbert Pagel, and her great-granddaughter Christina Oberstadt.
Funeral services for Della will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton with Rev. Paul Hinz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Shiocton Bovina Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Greenville Manor and Rennes Health Care Center for all the compassionate care shown to Della during the final years. She enjoyed your company and sharing her stories with you.
