Heimermann, Dennis J.

Dennis J. Heimermann, age 69 years, of Clintonville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 19, 2012, while attending a Christian Music Festival in Green Bay.

Dennis Jacob Heimermann was born on May 31, 1943 in Green Bay to Rita (Heimermann) who later married Peter Mueller. He lived in Appleton with his grandparents, Jacob & Gretchen Heimermann. Dennis graduated from Appleton High School in 1961 and went on for a year of general courses at UW Menasha. On February 10, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marianne A. Hubers at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. The couple lived in Appleton for many years and in 1993 they settled in Clintonville. He worked for over 40 years at Appleton Coated Paper Co. in Appleton, retiring in 2008. The couple also owned & operated Pigeon River Antiques, Clintonville, for eleven years. Dennis is a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church where he used his strong voice as a soloist, sang for weddings, was a Knights of Columbus member, and sang in the Men's Choir. Currently, he is a member of Grace Family Church, Marion, where he continued to share his gift of singing.

Dennis played bass guitar/sang with Jerry Williams and the Rockets, Jerry Williams wedding dance band. In grade school he played a tuba and then Americanos Drum and Bugle Corp. He played Santa Clause for 53 years for 100's of children, his Joy was to be in street clothes in July and hear a child say "Hi Santa". For 28 years Dennis liked camping with the family, he always enjoyed helping others in need, taking long walks in woods and occasionally seeing an eagle as it swooped and glided past. He especially enjoyed seeing his grandkids in swim meets, playing soccer, music and other school programs.

Survivors include his wife, Marianne, and two daughters; Nicole (friend Kristopher Follmann) Stoll of Clintonville and Shannon Skar of Clintonville. There are six grandchildren; Andrew & Justin Miller, Roland & Randall Follmann, and Blaine & Willow Skar. There is a great granddaughter, Sophia Miller, two sisters, Joyce (Ray) Lake, Appleton, Doris (John) Weyers, Appleton, and sister-in-law, Nancy (Ken) Jorstad. He is further survived by in-laws, Ray (Mary) Hubers, Steve (Tina) Hubers, Clet (Joan) Hubers, 86 nieces & nephews and their spouses, 3 Godchildren, well over 100 great nieces & nephews, and many, many friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his in-laws, Frank and Anna Mae Hubers, brothers: Donald, Peter, Florian, LeRoy, Eugene, Jerry & Jim and their spouses. Sisters: Ceil, Therese, Mary Jane and their spouses.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24th at 3:00 PM at Family of Christ - Assembly of God Church, Clintonville. Pastor Skip Robertson of Grace Family Church will officiate and inurnment will be at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dennis' name.
