Chevalier, Eugene O.

Eugene O. Chevalier, Kaukauna, age 83, passed away on Monday June 17, 2013 after a long struggle with cancer. He was born in Marinette, WI on July 20, 1929, the second son of the late Adrian and Cecelia (Verhayen) Chevalier. Gene lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan until he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Gene attended town board meetings and for a while was a volunteer fireman for the Town of VandenBroek. For many years he was honored to be an usher at St. John Nepomucene in Little Chute. He was a great pinochle player.

Gene loved to fish and enjoyed telling good fish stories. He enjoyed listening to baseball and hockey games and attending many of his grandchildren's school activities.

In April, 2012, Gene was fortunate to travel to Washington, D.C. on the Old Glory Honor Flight with his daughter Lisa. That day meant a great deal to him. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258.
