Ira David Bruchs, age 70, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center with his family at his side.

Ira was born March 17, 1942 in the town of Richford, Wisconsin son of the late Ira and Ruth (Zaudke) Bruchs. He served his country with the Army National Guard from 1965-1971. Ira was united in marriage to Doris Richter on April 24, 1971 in Shawano, Wisconsin. Ira enjoyed fishing, working in his vegetable garden and reading. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Most important to Ira, was spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren, reading the Bible and praying.

Ira is survived by his lovingly wife, Doris of 41 years; and two daughters, Janel (Jason) Fager, Waukesha; and Kerri (John) Van Asten, Appleton; and his four wonderful grandchildren, Joah and Jordan Fager and Rachel and Nathan Van Asten, two sisters, Naomi (William) Brandenburg, Poplar Grove, IL; and Phebe (Howard) Richter, Shawano. Ira was preceded in death by his infant sister, Esther.

The funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Norton officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Ira's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 am until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Ira's name.
