Waters, Jane B.

Adrianna Bernadine (Jane) Waters, age 89, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, December 23, 2013, in Neenah, Wisconsin. A 63-year resident of Neenah, she lived at the Valley VNA Senior Center since September 2012.

Jane, the first of three daughters, was born on May 14, 1924, in Kimberly, Wisconsin, to Arnold and Grada van la Moen. She spoke only Dutch in her home until she went to grade school. After graduating from Kimberly High School, she attended secretarial college in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was an executive secretary at the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin. On October 23, 1948, she married Robert Patrick (Pat) Waters at Holy Name Church in Kimberly. An involved, dedicated stay at home mother, Jane raised four daughters, volunteering in many capacities at St. Margaret Mary School and Church in Neenah. For over 40 years she, with other volunteers, traveled to New Holstein each Friday to work with Brother Regis Fust, S.D.S. and Sister Dora Zapf, S.D.S., at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse. In the summer of 2012 she attended her 70th high school class reunion.

Jane Waters is survived by her daughters, Kathryn (Matthew Graham) Waters, Christine (Martin Anderson) Waters, Gretchen (John Gilbert) Waters, and Victoria (Michael) Holschbach; sisters Henrietta (Carlton) Buerger and Mary (James) Wehnes; grandchildren, Beau di Loreto (friend Andrea Ehlers), Maria (Shawn) Laubenstein, Leslie (Jarod) Anderson, Patrick Anderson, Ian Waters, Amelia Waters, Zach (Ejaye) Gilbert; great grandchildren, Amora Hope, Zander, Caiden, and Anisa Gilbert; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Slife and Patricia Ebersberger, godson John (Susan) Gossens, and many nieces and nephews. Jane also had numerous relatives in the Netherlands, including her cousin and pen pal, Arnold (Dorien) van Oorschot. She and her husband visited them in the Netherlands several times, and in 2001 they and their daughters celebrated Jane and Pat's 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Netherlands and Italy.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Pat Waters in 2004, and her brothers-in law, Anthony Ebersberger and Albert Slife. Jane Waters was an avid animal lover whose life was enriched by many beloved dogs, cats, and birds.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 439 Washington Ave., Neenah with Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM - 800 PM at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse or to a preferred charitable organization of choice. Jane's family is very grateful for the tender and loving care she received from all of the staff at the Valley VNA Senior Center, particularly those in Coral Court, and especially Jennifer Tiesling.

Jane Waters will be buried at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly, beside her husband and parents.
