Leo Golper Obituary

Leo Golper

81, a lifelong resident of Appleton, passed on June 1, 2012. He was born on June 25, 1930 to Jacob and Rose Golper. Leo was a pioneer in the Paper Recycling Industry. He was the quintessential businessman and a champion of conducting deals and helping to connect people with one another.

He loved his family and was dedicated to providing for them. He enjoyed nature and cared about conservation. He was a charitable person in every sense of the word; often donating his time and energy and sharing his wisdom with many local business owners. Many times charitable efforts were kept anonymous and behind the scenes.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his sons: David (Susan), Sam (Nora) and Dan (Cheryl) along with one grandchild, Shauna and a sister, Shirley Friedman.

Leo was very well loved and will be sadly missed.

The family would like to thank Rennes Health Care for their support, compassion and care.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with visitation to begin at 9:30 am. Graveside services will follow at Moses Montefiore Cemetery, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Heart Association.

Oh how sad to read that Leo had passed. He truly was a friend to everyone in the community. He was one of my biggest supporters when he became one of my first customers at Schneider Communictions (part of Schneider National). I am sure heaven has welcomed this wonderful man.
