LeRoy Johnson, 72, of Appleton, passed away due a to lengthy illness on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center.

LeRoy was born May 20, 1941, in Appleton, the son of Stanley and Esther (Bruch) Johnson. He graduated in 1959 from Appleton High School. LeRoy was united in marriage to Jeanette Siebels on July 28, 1973. He retired from Miller Electric after 40 years of service. LeRoy enjoyed camping at Cecil Campgrounds, fishing, woodworking, and yardcare, and in his retirement worked at Chaska Golf Course and was a crossing guard with the Appleton School District.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; three children: Michael J. (Julie) Johnson, Tammy (Jerry) Gosz, Richard (Heather) Johnson; his grandchildren: Erica, Mitchell, Philip, Amanda (Jason), Sabrina, Brittney, Matthew, David, Brittany, Kylie, McKenna, Jacklyn (Jacob), and Janelle; there are three great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Willer; mother-in-law, Louise Siebels; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Cleo (Mike) Rodgers, Elaine (Gary) Pitz, David (Sally) Siebels, Beverly (Jim) Ervin, Paul (Linda) Siebels, of Iowa, and Wilmer Casperson, of Green Bay. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, incredible neighbors, and the family dog, Shelby.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Harvey Siebels, son, Steven D. Johnson, sister, Carol M. Casperson, brother-in-law, William Willer, and numerous aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at St. John United Church of Christ, 1130 W. Marquette St., with Rev. Dr. Tom Fritz officiating. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in LeRoy's name.
