Sr. Mary Rose O'Connell passed away on May 18, 2012 at Manitowoc Holy Family Convent. Wake will be held Fri. May 25th 7-8 pm service and Sat. May 26th 8:15-10:15 viewing in the morning, with Funeral/Mass at 10:30 am at the Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, WI. Suriviors include: Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Simon Edward and Geneveive O'Connell Longrie and siblings: Robert, Patrick, Eugene, Shirley, Colleen, John, James and S. Edward. Sr. Mary Rose served as an elementary/music teacher at Sacred Heart, Manitowoc, St. Mary Waukesha, St. Francis, Hollandtown, St. Mary, Kaukauna, St. Mary Bloomington, St. John Antigo, WI., St. Francis Manistique & St. Ambrose, Ironwood, MI, St. Mary Delaware, OH; High School teacher at Catholic Memorial, Waukesha, Xavier, Appleton, Holy Family in Lindsay NE and Rosecrans, Zanesville, OH. Sr. Mary Rose was an administrator of Keen Ager Home, Appleton and a visitor at St. Paul Home and Riverside, Kaukauna, WI. She served as a Pastoral Minister at St. Mary Kaukauna and Manitowoc as a volunteer for Green Bay Diocesan programs, Marriage Encounter, TEC and Kolonla. Sr. Mary Rose earned a B.A. degree of Music from Alverno College, Milwaukee, WI and a M.A. from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. Sr. Mary Rose's home parish was St. Therese Church, Appleton, WI. Heaven has a new angel today. Sr. Mary Rose has touched the lives of so many. You were loved by many and shall be deeply missed. May God bless you and keep you safe always and may you rest in peace knowing you have made such a difference in the lives of so many people.
