Pamela Joan Lecy (Boyer) passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at her home in Fish Creek, WI at the age of 70. Pam is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Lecy, and her brother Stuart Boyer of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her three children, Kristin Reali (Kenneth) of Raleigh, NC; Mark Lecy (Deana) of Porter, IN; and Brett Lecy (Katy) of Fish Creek, WI.
She was a devoted and inspirational Grandmother to nine Grandchildren - Annie (20), Kayla (17) and Kristina (15) Reali; Lauren (16), Julia (13) and Kristofer (9) Lecy; Betsy (8), William (6) and Emerson (4) Lecy. Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Stuart and Ruth Boyer.
Pam grew up in Hammond, IN before attending Valparaiso, University. At Valparaiso, Pam met Jerry and in 1964 graduated with a B.A in Education. In 1983 Pam earned her M.A in Education / Reading Specialist from University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. Pam worked for 17 years with the Appleton Area School District. She directed the Title One reading program for the district and also was an administrator for Staff Development. She volunteered and served on several boards including the Fox Valley Literacy Coalition and ARC. In Door County, Pam served on the boards of Friends of Gibraltar (FOG) and The Hardy Gallery where she was Board President for three years.
Pam was an avid reader and enjoyed her book clubs. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Pam and Jerry enjoyed traveling to new places and visiting family and friends. Pam loved Door County and enjoyed sharing her home with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 4167 Juddville Road, Fish Creek, WI, with Rev. Michael Brecke officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
There will be a visitation from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan St., Sturgeon Bay, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Proceeds from the memorial will benefit Door County Cancer Center and DOOR CANcer, Inc. (local cancer patient and survivor support organization).
