Phyllis Brooks Midkiff passed away on July 12, 2014, in Cumming, GA after a lengthy illness.
Phyllis was born July 31, 1956, at the U.S. Naval hospital on Coronado Island, CA. She married David Midkiff in 1984 in Santa Clara, CA and moved to Georgia, when her husband began work for Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Roswell, GA.
Phyllis held Master Degrees in Geology and in Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She was a geology professor at Georgia Highlands College in Rome, GA, until she could no longer work due to her illness. Phyllis was an inspiration to us all in the way she attacked life head on with tremendous energy and enthusiasm and in the way she lifted us all up with her joyful spirit.
She is survived by her husband, David Midkiff of Cumming, GA; her sister, Claudia Swett of Campbell, CA; and her brother, Eric Wagner of Arlington, WA.
Inurnment services will be held at noon Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, WI.
