Haen, Robert E.

Robert E. Haen, Kaukauna, age 86, died at his home Saturday January 18, 2014. He was born in Kaukauna on May 21, 1927 to the late John and Elizabeth (Klein) Haen. He married Frances Lamers at St. Paul Parish in Wrightstown on his 22nd birthday, May 21, 1949. Bob was a great storyteller and had a great sense of humor. He was a hard worker, farmer and successful salesman. Bob enjoyed living at Legend Lake and having his family visit. He also loved gardening, bird watching, grilling and the warm Florida sun. Bob was a man of strong faith and commitment. He adapted to change and made the most of every opportunity.

Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances; children: Pauline (Rob) Henke, Waynesboro, PA; Norma (Tim) McCutcheon, Madison; Robert (Joyce); Joseph (Lori); Geraldine (Steve) King; and Jacqueline (Mark) Abel, all of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Jeremy (Jenni) Henke, John (Noelle Fukushima) McCutcheon, Aimee (Scott) Nash, Casey (Geneva), Kelly, Jesse (Melissa) and Joshua Haen, Kevin (Nicole) and Michaela King, Marie and Janel Abel; great grandchildren: Lindsey, Emily and David Henke, Wesley and Cora McCutcheon, Guthrie and Althea Nash, Nolan and Lincoln Haen; sister: Irene Kempen; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Pat (Fred) Haen-Schuette, Cyril Klister, Mary Nackers, Rose (Francis) Schmidt, Emily VanderWyst, Marilyn Lamers and Helen (Vanderloop) Lamers. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth; granddaughter Sara Marie (Henke) Edelman; Frances' parents: Richard and Anna Lamers; siblings: Rita (Richard) Hartzheim, Victor (Ethel) Haen, Leo (Gladys) Haen, Martha Klister, Lucina (Norbert) Schmidt, Helen (Paul) Lamers and Jack Haen; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Merlin Kempen, Gordon (Mary) Lamers, Ruby (Bob Turiff) Van Handel, Ves (Jane) Vosters, Gene (Delia) Lamers, Gerald Nackers and Gordon VanderWyst.

Visitation will be held Wednesday January 22, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 5:00 p.m. until the vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday January 23, 2014 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Bob's family would like to thank Theda Care at Home Hospice, Home Instead caregivers and all the caring physicians and staff.

Bob was an extremely dedicated family man and loving husband. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy. We love you, good job Dad!
