Guth, Ruth M.

Ruth M. Guth, age 71, of Weyauwega, died on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. She was born on March 15, 1942, in New London, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Raymond and Laura(Detert) Regel. Ruth married George Guth in August 1974, he preceded her in death in 1988. Ruth worked for Zwickers, Fleet Farm, and later worked at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Ruth was a very active person. She enjoyed softball and bowling leagues (25 years of traveling bowling competitions), and dart throwing with her friends. Lifelong activites included fishing, hunting, golfing and gardening. Playing cards and Packers games were a weekly tradition. She loved spending time with her nieces, including at her swimming pool. Later she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She helped her friends in their time of need, and was grateful for her friends when her own illnesses slowed her down. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Ruth is survived by a sister, Marjory Regel of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Roy (Carol) Regel of Missoula, MT and their two children, Jennifer and Anne; two step-sons George Earl (Marjorie) Guth of WA; and Gene (Susan Millard) Guth of Weyauwega; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many friends and neighbors who were part of her life. Ruth was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Gail(Roger)Meiklejohn. A memorial service honoring Ruth will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church,312 W. Main St., Weyauwega. Pastor Dennis Lemke and Pastor Newlin Schafer will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, at the church, from 9:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. Peter's Lutheran Church, or a memorial fund of your choice.
