Sandra Lynn Sternweis passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday March 26th. Sandy was 55 years old. She was born June 20th 1957 in Marshfield, WI. Her parents Richard and Jessie (Gage) Rasmussen raised Sandy and her two sisters on their dairy farm near Marshfield. After graduating from Marshfield High School, Sandy and her husband Michael moved to Appleton in 1975 to begin their life together and raise their family. She continued her education receiving two degrees from Fox Valley Technical College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. Sandy was employed at Clearbrook Inc. of Neenah, WI. She was the Executive Administrator and was employed there until the time of her death. She would say how much she enjoyed her job, especially speaking to so many people around the country. Her hobbies and interests included reading, enjoying nature especially big waters like the Great Lakes and the ocean off the coast of Florida, spending time and laughing with her family, and making patchwork quilts. Every time a wedding or new baby was on the way, Sandy was on a mission to complete a new quilt. She also enjoyed taking her Grandchildren to movies and on shopping trips. Many weekends were spent with family at the cabin in northern Wisconsin. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved the late night/early morning shopping after Thanksgiving and the excitement of gift giving.
She will be dearly missed and forever treasured by her husband Michael, daughter Susan (Jason) Brown, son Scott (Melissa) Sternweis, three grandchildren: Marshall and Lenore Brown, and Wayne Highfield of Ladoga IN; two sisters, Debbie Schreindl of Marshfield and Dyann (William) Lahvic of Menasha, nephew Corey (Amy) Lahvic and their boys Cameron and Carter, nieces Alissabyth and Alexis Lahvic, Mike's parents Al and Arlene Sternweis of Marshfield, brothers-in-law Jerome (Jayne) Sternweis and Dennis Sternweis, sister-in-law Barb (Dan) Weiland and nephew Eric, brother-in-law Doug (Chimene) Sternweis niece Dakota and nephew Mason, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and Grandparents.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Monday April 1 from 4-6pm at Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 5pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.valleyfh.com.
