Thomas Bartman Obituary
Bartman, Thomas

Thomas F. Bartman, "Tommer", Kaukauna, formerly of Appleton, age 45, passed away on September 21, 2012 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born on July 13, 1967 in Appleton, son of Thomas and Ramona (Butler) Bartman. On August 24, 1991 Tom married Nancy VandenHeuvel of Kaukauna. He was a graduate of Appleton High School West in 1985 and Fox Valley Technical College as a Journeyman Electrician. He was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital as their resident electrician. Tom had many interests and hobbies including music, hunting, and fishing. He was a self taught musician who played drums in area bands. Tom spent his "free time" building and remodeling for himself and others. He was passionate about spending time with his family at their lake cottage and family log cabin, that he helped build. Tom coached baseball for Kaukauna Youth Baseball and was a supportive fan of his three sons. His love for the sport stemmed from being a bat boy for the Appleton Foxes. The Brewers and Packers have both lost an avid fan. Tom's projects were unending, unless it was too hot, then he was found on a floating device with a beverage in his hand. He loved playing sheepshead and outdoor cooking. Tom was a great host. He worked hard and lived life to the fullest. Tom's enthusiasm for life will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. His spirit will live on "up north".

Besides Nancy and his parents, he is survived by his three sons: Craig (Shayna) VandenHeuvel, Maxwell and Samuel Bartman, all of Kaukauna; granddaughter, Hailey VandenHeuvel and a 2nd grandchild due in February, a sister, Lisa (Scott) Watkins, his mother-in-law, Janice VandenHeuvel; sisters-in-law: Cindy (Joe) Freeman, Debbie VandenHeuvel, and Laurie Brandt; and a brother-in-law, Mark VandenHeuvel. He will be sadly missed by his friends: Greg (Phyl) Peters, Lee (Bonnie) Gardner, and Ron (Lisa) Scray as well as many others. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Mike VandenHeuvel; grandparents, Thomas and Ramona Butler and Fred and Lucille Bartman.

Prayer Services for Tom will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Bartman Family.

Gone from us but only for awhile. Then we'll see that wonderful smile.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to Theda Clark ICU, Theda Star helicopter, and everyone who responded on the scene.
