Zeuthen, Vivian R.

Vivian R. Zeuthen, 100, passed away peacefully after a short illness at Bellatage Assisted Living, with family at her side on Sept. 10, 2012.

Vivian was born Sept. 26, 1911, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Thomas and Ada Brown. She graduated from Ward Belmont College, Nashville, Tenn. and the University of Minnesota with a degree in marketing and advertising. She went on to work for Montgomery Ward in advertising.

Vivian was united in marriage to Victor Zeuthen in June 1937 and moved to Neenah, Wis., where they raised their family. In 1972, she followed her sisters and their families to Winter Haven, Fla. and enjoyed good times with family and friends. Victor and Vivian shared 65 wonderful years of marriage before his death in 2002.

Vivian was active in many social organizations, developing lifelong friendships. She enjoyed bridge, golf, and politics. She was a strong supporter and leader of the Republican Party, long-time member of North Shore Golf Club, Menasha, Wis., and Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, Winter Haven, Fla. While in Wisconsin, she was a member of the Christian Science Church, later joining the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven.

Above all, she was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always interested and supportive of their activities. Her family gave her the most joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Victor Jr.;and two sisters. Marion, her identical twin, (Wallace Nelson) and Irene (Charles Longenecker). Vivian is survived by son, Thomas (Nancy), grandchildren, Jack, Victoria Arrington (Michael), and Thomas Jr. (Kathryn), great-grandchildren, Emily, Allison, Thomas III, and Anna.

Our family deeply appreciates the love, support, and respect of caregivers over the past ten years. Lucy Schoup, Joann McIntosh, Kiara Washington, Vanessa Aguirre, Mary Rollins, Donna Rollins, Debra Harris and the many caregivers of Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, Fla.

A Memorial service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven Chapel, 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 637 6th St. NW, Winter Haven, Florida 33880. Condolences may be sent at
