William Fehrman Obituary

Fehrman, William "Bill" K.

William "Bill" K. Fehrman, age 68, went to his heavenly home with his loving family at his side on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Appleton Medical Center. On April 12, 1944, William Kenneth was born the son of Kenneth and Rose (Braatz) Fehrman. He grew up in New London, WI, moving to rural Appleton with his family in 1957. Bill was a 1962 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School. He went on to serve his country enlisting in the US Navy. He fought during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was also a life member of the VFW Freedom Post 7692. On November 8, 1974, Bill was united to Susan List at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Appleton. In 1971, Bill began his life's calling by becoming a police officer. He served with the Outagamie County Sherriff's Department, until his retirement in February of 1998. His second passion, the outdoors, led to his part-time job of Special Conservation Warden with the WI DNR. Never having a dull moment in his life, Bill enjoyed being a part of many clubs. He was the founder of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club of WI Chapter V, and the Race Director for the past 20 years for CCS Road Racing Organization. With his love of the outdoors, Bill enjoyed being a member of the Fox Valley Scuba Club, and dedicated his time as a member and board member of the Outagamie County Conservation Club. During his life, Bill had achieved many goals he had set for himself with a few being: getting his pilot's license, becoming a master diver, a motorcycle road racer, and a downhill skier. Bill's greatest achievement was being a great husband, and the best dad and grandpa!

Bill will be missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Susan; his children: Billy Joe (Kathie) Fehrman, Michelle (Brent) Bouche, Amy (Fiance, Michael Wagner) Fehrman, and Adam Fehrman; grandchildren: Hunter, Chase, McKenna, Braydon, MaKenna, Nicholas, Logan, Christian, Anthony, Kariann; his mother, Rose Fehrman-Zinck; his sisters: Karen (Rich) Gengler, Kay (Russ) Boers; mother-in-law, Bardean List; a sister-in-law, Beverly (Grant) Krause; brother-in-law, Art Williams; the Pockat family, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; a sister, Kathy Williams; a nephew, Jamie Williams; his first wife, LaVonne (Pockat) Fehrman; father-in-law, Ewald List, and former father-in-law and mother-in-law: Eddie and Bernice Pockat.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, August 20, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2200 E. College Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Timothy Seabaugh officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will take place in Shiocton-Bovina Cemetery in the Township of Bovina with VFW Post 7692 of Freedom conducting the Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Appleton Medical Center for their kindness and care given to Bill and his family during his stay.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Bill was running the show at the track when I raced and he was greatly respected by everyone. He was a figure of authority and comfort during the events. I saw him this Spring at Blackhawk which brought a smile to my face. Bill will be forever remembered and always missed.

Sincerely,
Eugene Cichon

Bill, I will never forget the nudges and words of encourgement from the get go at Discover Scuba, telling me I could do it, I could be a diver and how proud I was to tell you how many dives I had gotten in my 1st year of diving. I can't remember Bill ever saying anything bad about someone else. If he felt it, he sure kept it to himself. I guess that's what made Bill who he was. A very kind and considerate man. It sure was a privilege knowing and working with him over the years. Rest in peace Bill. My sincere condolences to the family....My God wipe away all the tears from your eyes and lift your sorrow with his words of promise.
