Coleman, James "Jim"
James "Jim" Gregory Coleman, 56 of Appleton died Sunday March 23, 2014 at Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation, Appleton. He was born in Manitowoc, January 7, 1958, son of James A. and Dolores (Whitmore) Coleman. Jim graduated from Appleton West High School in 1976; he went on to receive his Bachelor degree in history from UW-Oshkosh.
Jim loved sports; he played softball in his younger years. He was the Athletic Trainer for Appleton West football during his high school years. He loved to keep track of statistics for all his favorite sport teams, which included the Packers, Brewers, and St. Louis Cardinals. He loved anything to do with history; he was a real history enthusiast. Jim also loved to travel, throughout the United States and also to other countries. He visited London twice, Japan and he traveled to Israel on a tour with former Green Bay Packer, the late Reggie White.
Jim is survived by his mother, Dolores, Appleton; his three sisters, Christine (Miles) Knuteson, Lafayette, IN; Cheryl (Jeff) Hietpas, Appleton; and Charleen (Brent) Adams, Superior; three nieces, Katie (Ryan) Stevens, Milwaukee; Amy (Josh) Wallace, Spencer; and Emily Knuteson, Milwaukee; and a great niece, Braleigh Wallace. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Coleman; and brother, John Albert.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00am at The Salvation Army, 1525 Appleton Rd., Menasha, WI.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jim's name.
Jim's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Jack Anderson, Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation, Theda Care at Home Hospice, and Caring Hearts, for all of their care and compassion.
