Gehrke, Gary L.

Gary Lee Gehrke, age 58, of Morgan City, Louisiana, formerly of Manawa, passed away on March 30, 2014. He was born on August 30, 1955, to Paul and Marie (Carew) Gehrke at New London Hospital. Gary served in the military with the U.S. Army. Gary worked as a tankerman for the Enterprise Co. out of Homa, Louisiana.

He is survived by his parents; one brother: John and Nancy Gehrke and their children: Elizabeth and Jacob Mayer and Charlie; IL; Kristina and Brian Jacobs, Milwaukee; Kathryn Gehrke, CO; sister: Theresa and Jerry Cook, Red Wing, MN; sister: Marcia and Mariano Fdez de Jauregui, Mexico; and their children: Aleiva Fdez de Jauregui, Las Vegas; Leah Marcum and Demetrius and Isaiah, Texas; sister: Karen and Roman Punahele, and their children: Ameliana, Regina, Rosalie and Jordan, Hawaii; sister: Karla and Russell Jahoula, and their children: Sarah and Mitchell. Also a very special friend Adel Broussard, Louisiana.

A Memorial Mass for Gary will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Amal Roche officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
