Johnson, Ellsworth

Ellsworth J. Johnson, "Ossie", Crivitz, age 87, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born on April 25, 1926, son of the late Willard and Helena (Van Straten) Johnson. On August 7, 1948 he was united in marriage to Rose Micke at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a truck driver for over 30 years at CW Transport Co. until his retirement. Ossie was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He loved baseball and was asked to play for the Bluejays. He was really involved in all of his grandchildren's sporting activities. Ossie looked forward to his hunting trips out west and fishing trips to Canada. He spent his leisure time at the cabin in Crivitz where he and Rose made their permanent home 4 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; his three children: Bonnie (Jeff) Soland-Ott, Bryan (Sherry) Johnson, and Cindy (special friend Bob) Krzewina; a daughter-in-law, Barb Johnson; 19 grandchildren: Brittney (Richard) Dupuis, Mandy (Jeff) Quick, Danielle Soland, Joshua Soland, Zachary Soland, Jeff Ott Jr., Connie (Marty) Kramer, Curt Johnson, Sean Johnson, Kyla (Joe) Grinsteiner, Alayna (Brian) Richlen, Whitney Johnson, Cale Johnson, Samantha VanNess, Robert VanNess, Jonathan VanNess, Wesley (Alisha) Krzewina, Krystle (Aaron) Baer, Tyler (Jennifer) Krzewina; Nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: June Sommerfeld and Gladys Bildings; 8 sisters-in-law: Patricia Johnson, Martha Dercks, Evelyn Peer, Judy Micke, Marie Micke, Joyce Micke, Joanne Verkuilen, and Carol Micke; 4 brothers-in-law: Clayton Bildings, Harold Micke, Clarence Micke and Kenny Micke.

In addition to his parents, Ossie was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Johnson, a grandson, Rory Krzewina, a son-in-law, Jim Soland, a brother, Bill Johnson, a sister, Arlene Dugre and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ossie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna on TUESDAY, April 15, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday directly at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
