Linda Brousard-Norcross, 64, passed away at home after a lengthy illness on Friday, April 18, 2014. Having lived with cancer for several years Linda was as prepared as she could be when she learned last summer that the cancer had spread to her brain. She spent her last few months putting her affairs in order, enjoying herself as much as possible and preparing herself and her family for the end.
Linda overcame ever-worsening vision loss through determination and a positive attitude. She managed most daily activities and earned Master's Degree's and a Ph. D. from the the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She taught special education, was a college professor for several years and later worked in the South Dakota Office of Education before retiring due to her vision loss. The birth of her twin girls, Elena and Nicole, at about this same time was a true blessing for Linda and Brad. Linda continued to enjoy her artwork, publishing a children's book on Hurricane Katrina that she dedicated to the people of Louisiana, as well as many original art pieces. She was always grateful to family and friends for their support during her struggles with various health issues.
Linda is survived by her husband Brad, daughters Elena and Nicole, and brothers Hollis Brousard, Jr., Appleton, and George Brousard, Hayward, Wisconsin.
Linda's bright smile and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew her.
Per Linda's wishes there will be no formal services
