Olson, Virginia Eleanor "Ginnie"

Virginia E. Olson, 90, Neenah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Azura Memory Care, Oshkosh, with her family by her side. She was born February 6, 1924, in Chicago, IL, daughter of Alf and Eleanor (Reaume) Everson. Virginia was employed by Illinois Bell and CNW Railroad in Chicago. She was united in marriage to Vernon C. Olson on October 11, 1947, in Chicago. He preceded her in death, after 49 years of marriage, in 1996. After marriage, the couple moved to Neenah, where Ginnie became an LPN and worked for eight years at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. While raising her five children, she was active in her children's PTA, cub scouts, and girl scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cake decorating, square dancing, camping, knitting, and reading; especially the Bible and newspaper in its entirety. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Neenah, and Zion Lutheran Church, Readfield.

Virginia is survived by her five children: Susan (Paul) Case, Two Rivers; James (Connie) Olson, Fremont; Janet (Jeff) Pasono, Green Bay; Karen (Brian) Frisch; and Larry Olson, both of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren: Barb Ramos, James and Jeff Olson, Julie Verch, Derek Schutzendorf, Rebecca Juedes, Jacob Frisch, and Mike Durant; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ginnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; a brother and a sister-in-law: Clifford (Helen) Everson; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Floyd (Marian) Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Rev. Dietrich Gruen officiating. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Ginnie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Azure Memory Care and Generations Hospice for all their wonderful care and love.
