Harold G. Duchow
Age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Chilton Medical Center. He was born on December 23, 1920 in Collins, WI, son of the late Bernard and Amelia (Kiesow) Duchow. On April 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to Irene Bergelin at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Chilton and together they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Together they farmed for many years in the Town of Hilbert. Harold then worked for Thilmany Paper Mill for nearly 15 years until his retirement. He was an avid woodsman, liked to play sheepshead, and loved to tinker in his shop.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters: Joyce (Jerry) Diedrich and Janet (Bill) Schroeder; five grandchildren: Michelle (Craig) Piepenburg, Jolynn (Ben) Ives, Jill Diedrich, Jeremy (special friend Aimee) Hostettler, and Ellen (Joe) Petrie; ten great-grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son-in-law, Jim Schabach, and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Harold will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014 at BETHANY LUTHERAN Church, 124 West 10th Street, Kaukauna with Rev. Levi Willms officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery in the Town of Chilton. Friends may call directly at the church on Sunday from 5-7 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until the time of services.
