Larimer, Gay Leigh
Gay Leigh Larimer, age 66, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 31, 2014 with her husband of 45 years at her side. Gay fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Gay was born on March 9, 1948 a daughter of the late Ross and Shirley (Westwood) Minor in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from South High School class of 1966. Gay was united in marriage on July, 12, 1969 to David Larimer. The pride of Gay's life was her children and grandchildren. She received the Grandmother of the Year award as voted by her grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping with her daughters, golfing, traveling and honoring our veterans.
Gay will be dearly missed by her husband, David and three daughters, Jill (Aaron) Nelson, Wausau, WI; Jena (Marcus) Monroe, New York, NY; and Kristy Larimer, Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren, Amanda, Jonathan and Jake Nelson and Hannah Sharratt, two sisters, Margo (Tom) Dietrich, Broken Arrow, OK; and Robyn (Don) Harris, Dallas, TX; She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy Larimer, her first husband, Robert Jenkins who died serving his country in Vietnam and her father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Elizabeth Larimer.
A memorial service will be held for Gay on Sunday, August 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Wichita Community of Christ at 3500 South Webb Rd in Wichita, Kansas 67210.
