Karl Vanden Heuvel Obituary
Karl Vanden Heuvel

Karl Vanden Heuvel, age 58, went home to his Savior on Saturday, August 2, 2014, following unexpected surgical complications. Karl was born on April 25, 1956 to the late James and Dorothy (Maes) Vanden Heuvel. On May 20, 1977, Karl married his best friend, and soul-mate, Patti McCormick. Together they raised two daughters, one of which has special needs. Karl loved fishing, especially on the ice, Wisconsin Badger football, scuba diving, wood-working, and spending time with his family, particularly his young grandson. For 30 years, Karl took tremendous pride in his work in the paint-shop of Miller Electric Manufacturing. He will always be remembered for his gentle and humble spirit, his servant's heart, his honesty, integrity, and strong work-ethic, his unswerving love and devotion to his family, and his constant faith in Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Patti, their daughters, Angela, and Dawn (Matthew) Etzel, his grandson, Owen, and another grandson, Connor, due next week. Karl is also survived by his siblings, James (Karen) Vanden Heuvel, Nancy (John) Wilson, Dan (Diane) Vanden Heuvel, Jean (Gordy) Schroeder, Lee (friend, Mary) Vanden Heuvel, Tony (Julie) Vanden Heuvel, Jon (Kim) Vanden Heuvel, and Amy (Steve) Schilhabel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his children, April Joy, Todd Wesley, and Faith Carole, his nephew, James, a niece, Sarah, great nieces, Margaret and Lucy, and his godparents, Norman and Marie Reybrock.

A Christian Memorial Celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, with Pastor John Kieffer officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to Easter Seals in Appleton or Bethesda Wilson Group Home in Appleton would be appreciated.
