Wayne Swenson Obituary

Swenson, Wayne T.

Wayne Swenson, age 65, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 24, 1945 in Oshkosh, the son of the late Stanley and Doris (Pennings) Swenson. Wayne graduated from Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh and attended the U.S. Army Engineer School. He served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. On August 16, 1969 he married Gail Zuege at Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh. Wayne enjoyed youth coaching for girl's softball and boy's baseball. He was an active member of Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church in Neenah, prior to joining Eternal Love Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Wayne was employed for fourteen years at Kitz & Pfeil True Value Hardware in Appleton. Wayne is survived by his wife: Gail Swenson; son: Pastor Troy (Monica) Swenson, Kewaskum; daughter: Kara (Jason) Krull, Greenville; five grandchildren: Olivia, Maya and Isaiah Swenson; Madison and Carter Krull. He is further survived by a nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Wayne will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at ETERNAL LOVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1011 E. Midway Road, Appleton. Rev. Robert Balza will be officiating. Entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Eternal Love Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Lucas Ev. Lutheran School, Kewaskum or ThedaCare at Home Hospice are appreciated.
