Paul Roth Obituary
Roth, Paul E.

Paul E. Roth, age 65 of the Town of Matteson, Waupaca County, WI, passed away Monday August 8, 2011 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Paul was born on June 18, 1946 in San Diego, CA. He was the son of Bernard (Molly) Roth and the late Mary nee Stump Roth. As a young man, Paul moved to Guam with his family for a short time before returning to San Diego where he graduated from Grossmont High School. He then enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for a few years and returned home. Paul then graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. He then enlisted to serve his country in the United States Navy retiring as Chief in 1993.

While with the Navy, Paul traveled everywhere. He served on the USS Barbey and also the USS John Marshall during his Naval career. Thank goodness Paul liked Scuba Diving. It was the familiar sound of scuba tanks being carried about that he noticed his future wife; Teresa Platt. Teresa was also serving in the United States Navy and the couple met while stationed in Guam. It was Teresa's job to care for the scuba gear and Paul knew instantly that was the gal for him. The couple was united in marriage on March 26, 1983 in Guam. Upon Paul's retirement in 1993 the couple moved to their current residence in rural Clintonville. As mentioned previously, Paul loved scuba diving, but his dedication was always to his family. He simply adored his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, swimming, biking, gardening, water color painting, and photography. He had a light-hearted sense of humor and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include: his wife, Teresa; a daughter, Jennifer (Spencer) Hill, Orange Park, FL; a son, Thomas Roth, Milwaukee; his father and step-mother: Bernard(Molly) Roth, San Diego, CA; his granddaughters: Autumn and Madison Hill; a sister, Stephanie (Greg) Sephel, Nashville, TN; two brothers: Rodney and Thomas Roth, San Diego, CA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Charles and Carol Platt, Portage. Also a sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Charlene (Melvin) Goffard, Hortonville; Timothy (Sonia) Platt, Indianapolis, IN; and Gregory Platt, Portage.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother Mary Roth.
