John Baumler Obituary
John was born on Sept. 5, 1928, in Oshkosh, to the late John C. and Paula (Arnold) Baumler. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. John proudly served his nation in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1949. He was a member of the Better Breathers Club at Appleton Medical Center, enjoyed camping with his family, and was a former Boy Scout leader. John married Shirley Speckman June 22, 1952, in Herron, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shirley; his daughter, Lori (Dayne) Cooley, Appleton; his sons, Kirk (Pam) Baumler, Waupaca; and Mark Baumler, Appleton; his grandchildren, Danielle (Ben) Foster, Alaina Cooley, Taylor Cooley, Matthew (Ashley) Baumler, Casey (Stephanie) Baumler, Stephen Baumler and Evan Baumler; his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan and Celia; and his sister, Johanna Miller.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Chaplain Jim Frank officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. John Swanson and his staff, and the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice, for their loving care.
