Richard Schramm Obituary
Schramm, Richard

Richard "Dick" Schramm, age 76, passed away suddenly after losing a 3-year battle with cancer, on Friday, October 12, 2012, with his wife, family and his little sweetheart, Daisy, at his side. He was born October 6, 1936 to Roy and Ester Schramm in Neenah. He attended Neenah High School and graduated in the class of 1956. Dick was united in marriage to Consuelo Wimer in June 1961 and she preceded him in death in 1989. He then married Patricia Williams in June of 1994.

Dick was owner and operator of Schramm's Maintenance from 1962 through 1988. During his semi-retirement, he used his land to store boats, cars and RV's. In 1998, he proudly decided to develop his land, design it, and build his dream house on his own street called "Schramm Way". He enjoyed watching his legacy grow into a fine development of family homes. He also had an affinity for finding curb side rescues and dumpster diving to look for unloved furniture to be refinished. His fascination continued with a passion for clocks and watches. Another passion of his was to ride his zero-turn around the yard in the springtime.

He was a 37-year member of the Lions and served as their president from 1978-79. He was famous for all the corn roasts at the farm. Dick loved to fish and with his friends they went on excursions to Little Turtle Lake in Ontario, Canada for over 17 years.

The highlight of his day included having coffee in the early morning hours with the guys every day at Four Seasons. Dick was incredibly good humored. He had jokes and phrases to bring a smile to everyone's face around him. He was incredibly caring and tried to turn difficult situations into positive opportunities.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Pat; two daughters: Michelle (Scott Parker) Schramm and Lisa (Scott) Clough; two step-sons: Scott Sommer and Jeff (Cherrie) Sommer; two grandchildren: Dalton and Lydia Clough; four step-grandchildren: Scott, Cassandra, McKenzie, and Hunter Sommer. He is also survived by his four brothers: Bill (Elaine Vancil); Jim (Carlotta) in Texas; Eugene (Rose); and Doug Schramm.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay (Vivian) Schramm; a sister, Judy (Dick) Nelson; sisters-in-law: Phyliss Schramm, Maratha Schramm and Yvonne Schramm; and mother-in-law, Sally Williams.

The funeral service for Dick will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the .
