Donald W. Lemke, age 78, of Hilbert, died on Friday January 18, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on August 21, 1934 in the Town of Charlestown, son of the late Walter and Viola (Krueger) Lemke. He married Geraldine Riemer on Nov. 8, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Rantoul. Don Served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 in Germany. Following the service to his country he worked as parts manager for Hingiss Implement in Chilton until 1961 when he and Geraldine bought their farm in the Town of Rantoul. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion post #127 of Hilbert, the Calumet County Holstein Breeders Association, and the Calumet County Farm Bureau. Don had received several farming awards throughout his career, and he had served on the Trinity Lutheran School Board for three terms. Donnie took great pride in his International tractors and farming. The joy of his life was watching his grandkids grow up. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; 4 children, Joleen (Jerry) Meyer of Kiel, Brenda (Bruce) Kobs of Chilton, Daniel (Kathleen) Lemke of Hilbert, Douglas (Gina) Lemke of Chilton; 9 grandchildren, Kelly (Hank) Aull, Kendra & Jonathan Kobs, Marke, Miranda, & Colton Lemke, Zachary, Jordan, & Brianna Lemke; a great granddaughter; 3 step great grandchildren; a brother Jerome (Marlene) Lemke of Brillion; a brother-in-law, Dr. William Sullivan of CA; his wife Geraldine's family, Dianna (Jerry) Popp of Brillion, Donald (Doris) Riemer of Darboy, Jackie (Larry) Wunrow of Chilton, a brother-in-law, Norm Fesing, and aunt Leona Jodar of Brillion. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Darlene Lemke, Caroline Sullivan, and an infant sister Delores Lemke. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Thursday January 24, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church (N6078 West River Rd. Hilbert) with the Rev Timothy Benninghoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM, and again at the church on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Donald W. Lemke.
