Marvin W. Korb, age 87 years, of Tigerton passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.
Marvin William Korb was born on July 18, 1925 in Milwaukee to William and Theresa (Schmiedel) Korb. He was united in marriage on November 23, 1946 to Violet J. Blundon at St. John Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. In his early years, Marvin drove delivery truck for Coca Cola. Then he began working for the City of Milwaukee, where he was employed for many years, retiring in 1971. The couple moved north and settled in Tigerton in 1972.
He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Morris. As a young man he enjoyed camping, bowling, drawing, and ice fishing. More recently, Marvin liked deer hunting, collecting antiques, and going to flea markets and rummage sales. He loved spending time with his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Violet, and three children: Gary (Mary) Korb of Pella, Randy (Debbie) Korb of Clintonville, and Susan (John) Rogers of San Tan Valley, AZ. There are 6 grandchildren: Sarah (Leon) Hayner, Joe (Amber) Korb, David Korb, Ashley (Katie) Kohn, Alex Niemuth, and John (Heather) Rogers, Jr. There are 5 great grandchildren: Abby Hayner, Chase Hayner, Lauren Kohn, Jayden Kohn, and Cody Rogers. There is a sister, Audrey (Gordon) Herrell of Milwaukee, a sister-in-law, Betty Korb of Milwaukee, and many other relatives and friends. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Kaleb Rogers, a great granddaughter, Brynleigh Rogers, a brother, Wilbur, and two sisters, Virginia (Everett) Anschutz and Louise (John) Manos.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 25th at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Morris. Pastor John Hielsberg will officiate and inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery in the spring. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.
