Betty J. Dybus, age 88, Wild Rose, formerly of Appleton, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Wild Rose Manor.
She was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on February 13, 1925 to the late Carl and Mabel (Taylor) Pinger. Betty came to Appleton at age 4 when her mother married Ferdinand Strutz. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1943 and was then employed at AAL. Betty was an avid violin player from age 10 years all through school and played in a trio for several years after this. She married Ben Dybus in 1948, and they later moved to their lake home on Round Lake, Waushara County. Ben retired early and they then wintered in Florida for many years. There Betty enjoyed shuffleboard and cards with many friends. She also enjoyed playing board games and cards with the grandchildren while at the lake. They eventually sold their lake home and moved to Zion Mutual Homes in Appleton and also joined Zion Lutheran Church.
Betty is survived by 3 sons: Steven Dybus, Wild Rose, Carl Dybus, Waldo and Keith Dybus, McFarland; 4 grandchildren: Heather (Bruce) Roe, Allyson (Eric) Secrest, Christopher Dybus and Travis Dybus; 4 great-granddaughters: Rayne Roe, Raegen Secrest, Elyta Roe and Cassidy Secrest; 2 sisters-in-law: Margot Christianson and Edith Stecker; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years Ben who passed away on May 11, 2003, their infant daughter June and 2 brothers-in-law.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida St., Appleton with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. Friends may visit the family at church on Wednesday from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
